Job summary
Plans and directs the operations of the organization. Provide leadership to grow revenue and profit of the business including full P&L ownership. The GM will lead a cross functional team through strong employee engagement, talent management and operations oversight.
Work experience
- Sales and operation management experience. At least 15 years’ experience in professional working experience. Prior General Management experience required. Managing a large group of direct reports is preferable.
- Significant experience required, including supervisory, product, customer, and budgetary experience.
- This role is seconded to the Cummins DKSH Myanmar (CDM) Joint Venture and reports to the Managing Director, Cummins DKSH JV Southeast Asia, an independent joint venture distributor reporting to its own board of directors.
- Eligible candidates shall have at least 15 years in professional working experience, are self-motivated and able to display maturity to overcome challenging complex business situations.
- Knowledge of emerging-market business development and/or distribution operations is desired.
- This role is based in Yangon, Myanmar. Market is considered emerging with high potential for growth.

Organizational structure
Reporting to the Managing Director of Cummins DKSH SEA.
Essential responsibilities
Operational and Leadership Responsibilities
- Manages compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and compliance; oversees health, safety, and environmental audits. Encourages a culture of corporate responsibility for the benefit of employees and the communities in which Cummins operates.
- Manages the day-to-day operations at a defined location, responsible for all functions and financial metrics. Develops a deep understanding of Cummins’ business in the region, globally, and across all business units.
- Develops and manages the business to the Annual Operating Plan with input from Business Development and Sales; monitors all appropriate business metrics including Branch balanced scorecards, profit and loss metrics, and asset metrics.
- Ensures business growth by managing annual marketing and sales plan; develops and maintains business relationships with customers and develops new business partners and alliances for the business segment or small geography. Manages market analysis for span of responsibilities.
- Manages customer satisfaction for the Branches as measured by Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer programs; encourages a culture of customer service; recruits, develops, motivates, and retains high quality customer service employees.
- Ensure collaborative cross-functional network and business relationships with Cummins Asia Pacific Leadership Team, Territory Sales teams, JV Staff Leadership, and DKSH local Country Leadership

Education
College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Business or related field required. Advanced degree in Business or related field preferred.
