Job Summary
Execute Business Unit/country-wide employee/industrial relations policies and procedures in compliance with local employment legislation
General Responsibilities
- Support superior in managing day-to-day operating expenditures against operating budgets to ensure efficient usage of resources
- Implement employee/industrial relations policies and procedures to ensure consistent and positive employee relations practices
- Provide administrative and advisory support to business leaders and HR practitioners on employee and industrial relations matters to minimize legal exposure and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Coordinate and support the implementation of employee/ industrial relations projects as assigned
- Manage record keeping, reporting and documentation required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring initiatives
- Communicate DKSH employee/industrial relations policies and procedures through briefings, presentations, and training/workshops to enhance awareness and compliance.
- Support in collective agreement/labor contract negotiation and monitor follow-up action to best position company's interests.
- Attend to employee/industrial relations issues and discuss improvement opportunities with employees or department leaders. Manage and resolve employee and industrial relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary cases, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., business units, vendors, associations, labor organizations, and regulatory bodies).
- Analyze employee/industrial relations trends and provide recommendations to improve workplace practices and reduce risk
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrate knowledge of localized employment/labor laws and current employee/labor relations practices
- Experience managing relationships with union leaders (for unionized set-up) and local labor departments
- Demonstrate ability to assess potential problems and make sound judgements around issues that may have an adverse effect on the business from an employee/industrial relations perspective
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally in English, both written and spoken
Education
Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or similar related discipline is preferred
