The National Sales Manager will oversee and drive the sales team performance and execution of commercial strategy for the Scientific Solutions business across Australia. This role demands a strategic, commercially focused leader with expertise in the scientific and laboratory market and a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing sales teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding market presence, managing key accounts, and achieving revenue growth through innovative sales strategies alongside a core focus on sales force effectiveness

 

The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, extensive knowledge of scientific instruments and consumables, ideally in the life sciences space, and a demonstrated history of successfully scaling and managing sales teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy to drive revenue and market share growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion strategies.
  • Work closely with senior management to align sales objectives with overall business goals.
  • Work closely with the marketing, product management, and operations teams to ensure effective execution of commercial strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs to refine sales approaches.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a national sales team to drive performance and accountability.
  • Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and incentive structures to motivate the team.
  • Conduct regular sales coaching, training programs, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture, ensuring collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and negotiate large contracts with key accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering high-quality solutions and support.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and market analysis.
  • Implement CRM tools and analytics to track performance and optimize sales processes.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of the scientific solutions industry, including laboratory equipment, consumables, or analytical instruments.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute national sales strategies.
  • Strong experience in team leadership, coaching, and development.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse market data and make data-driven decisions
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and Excel
