Material Master Data Coordinator is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing material master records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP). This role ensures data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards to support procurement, production, and inventory operations. Key tasks include monitoring data quality, managing planning parameters, supporting audits, and contributing to process improvements and system upgrades
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain material master data records in the ERP system (e.g., SAP)
- Ensure material data (descriptions, units of measure, purchasing data, BOMs, MRP settings, etc.) is accurate, complete, and aligned with business rules
- Subject matter expertise for continuous improvement/ key projects
- Collaborate with procurement, planning, manufacturing, engineering, and finance teams to gather and validate data inputs
- Perform regular audits and data cleansing to identify and correct inconsistencies or outdated information
- Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material data governance
- Support new product introductions (NPIs) and engineering change processes by coordinating timely material creation and updates
- Serve as the primary point of contact for material master-related queries and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a data management, supply chain, or ERP coordination role
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and data governance principles
- High attention to detail and strong data entry and data validation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across departments
