Job Responsibilities: 

The incumbent will lead a team to build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external clients as well as ensuring a quality management system is implemented and maintained.

Establish Quality Management System (QMS)

• Describe how the organization follows GxPs and operates to maintain a state of quality oversight control.

• Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; maintaining quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing changes.

• Develop quality assurance plans by conducting risk analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing quality KPIs, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures.

• Keep the QMS current with good industry practices.

Audit Compliance with Quality Management System (QMS)

• Audit compliance with SOPs (i.e. documented procedures vs actual practice). Ensure that self-inspection/ Internal Audit are performed at appropriate regular intervals following a prearranged program and necessary corrective/preventive measures are implemented.

• Report QMS metrics (i.e. KPIs), including trends that support decision-making and proactive corrective/preventive actions.

Establish Procedures

• Ensure that procedures and policies are appropriate and followed.

• Ensure quality inspection is performed on incoming products and printed packaging materials using validated procedures (i.e. SOPs, forms and checklists).

• Ensure procedures are in place for approval or rejection of products after exposure to adverse storage conditions. 

Ensure Investigation of Non-conformance

• Ensure investigation is conducted and root cause is correctly identified and eliminated.

• Review complaints/ incidents/ deviations to determine if they relate to a failure to meet specifications/ procedures/ regulatory requirements. If so, investigate and report to top management, clients and/or health authorities if the issue is critical/ serious/ life threatening.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or QA related disciplines 

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant QA experience

• Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry in Hong Kong

• Quality system management and auditing experience

• Strong understanding and knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP and GDP

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong analytical capabilities

• Candidate with less experience will be considered for the position of Supervisor
