Job Summary

As Director, HR Taiwan, you will lead the full spectrum of the HR function, partnering closely with the Country Management Team to ensure people strategies, resources, and processes are aligned with business priorities and objectives. You will be responsible for driving the implementation of DKSH’s global HR strategy while tailoring policies, frameworks, and tools to meet local business needs and regulatory requirements where necessary. In addition, you will ensure that DKSH HR systems, policies, and processes are effectively implemented, governed, and monitored in compliance with both corporate standards and local legislation. 

General Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage local HR operating targets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources 
  • Provide strategic business partnering advice/direction to local management teams on full range of HR services to align with business goals 
  • Drive implementation/alignment of global and country HR initiatives/policies to enhance organizational effectiveness 
  • Lead acquisition/development of talent via effective resourcing strategies to attract, engage and retain key/critical talents 
  • Drive/monitor talent management for critical leadership positions and develop talent readiness/transition strategies 
  • Develop/review workforce planning strategies (e.g. forecasting, short-/medium-term manpower requirements, etc.) to meet business demand 
  • Develop/review change management initiatives with business leaders to address human capital matters 
  • Develop employee communication that is directed at the targeted audience 
  • Review periodical data/reports to provide validated HR metrics/benchmarks for business decision making with Group HR and local management teams 
  • Work closely with the Head of Country Management in an advisory plus an administrative capacity in developing, reviewing, planning and implementing initiatives including HCM documentation, contracts and other legislative and company requirements 
  • Collaborate with Group HR in developing and operating strategic/tactical compensation programs and benefits structures including payroll management and salary benchmarking in cooperation with the global Compensation & Benefits team 
  • Plan/review HR due diligence and restructuring activities associated with mergers and acquisitions 
  • Develop employee/industrial relations programs and ensure compliance with local legislative requirements 
  • Resolve conflict management situations for both informal and formal grievances through either direct mediation or coaching managers on a plan of action 
  • Implement the global HR strategy and strategic HR tools, policies, systems and processes and ensure consistent delivery to enhance the competitive edge of the country organization over competitors by attracting and building talent 

Functional Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven track record in developing and implementing HR strategies and plans that support business goals and objectives, with clear and measurable HR outcomes
  • Strong ability to analyze business challenges and provide sound HR recommendations to business leaders
  • Strong business acumen and commercial mindset, with a good understanding of financial concepts such as P&L and EBIT, and the ability to translate business needs into practical HR solutions
  • Experience in organizational development, particularly in situations involving business expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational restructuring
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR practices in Taiwan
  • Demonstrated ability to apply conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to address complex workforce issues and develop effective, innovative solutions
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliverables across HR and business functions
  • Able to operate at both strategic and hands-on operational levels, with a willingness to get into the details and guide team members where needed
  • Sound conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in HR digitalization would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Education

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or similar related discipline is preferred
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
