Job Summary
The Director, Country Information Technology (CIT) leads and oversees all IT applications, infrastructure, and digital initiatives across Taiwan and China. Working in close partnership with Group IT, this role ensures the successful deployment of global and country-specific IT programs that enable business growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation.
As the senior IT representative at the country level, the Director serves as a trusted strategic partner to the Country Management Team, aligning local IT capabilities with Group IT standards while driving innovation, system reliability, cybersecurity, and high user satisfaction. The role requires a strong leadership mindset, commercial awareness, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing IT organization.
General Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Act as the primary IT partner to the Country Management Team, senior business leaders, and key stakeholders on all IT-related matters
- Develop and manage the country IT budget in collaboration with Group IT and the Regional IT Director, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with strategic priorities
- Provide regular executive-level updates on IT performance, key initiatives, risks, and deliverables
- Ensure alignment of country IT processes, systems, and governance with Group IT standards and policies
- Drive digital and technology initiatives that support business growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience
IT Service & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality IT services in line with agreed SLAs and performance targets
- Lead incident, problem, and escalation management for critical business systems, working closely with Regional and Group IT
- Ensure timely and transparent communication to business users on major IT issues, including root cause analysis and recovery actions
- Manage the deployment, maintenance, and security of all end-user computing systems in line with global digital workplace standards
- Provide on-site support for infrastructure components including servers, networks, and backup operations
- Ensure disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity measures are effectively implemented
Project & Transformation Delivery
- Lead or support country-level IT projects covering applications, infrastructure, acquisitions, new sites, and client onboarding
- Partner with Group IT on global rollouts, system testing, and transformation programs
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities
Vendor & Asset Management
- Manage local IT vendors to ensure service quality, compliance, and value for money
- Maintain accurate IT asset, equipment, and software license registers
Leadership & People Development
- Lead and inspire the IT team to deliver against strategic goals and KPIs
- Set clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
- Coach, develop, and retain high-potential IT talent
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and strong DKSH values
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Preferably strong hands-on and leadership experience with SAP
- Proven track record in multinational corporate environments
- Strong people leadership and team development capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Solid project management expertise
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Good understanding of IT service management frameworks
- Effective influencing and negotiation abilities
- Familiarity with Digital Workplace and security tools (e.g., Ivanti, ZScaler, MFA, endpoint solutions)
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computing and Information Technology
