The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, UVVis,
FTIR, LC-MS). This individual serves as the frontline technical contact for customers, ensuring optimal performance of systems and delivering
high-quality service in alignment with customer expectations and industry standards.

A Service Engineer for Equipment & Analytical Instruments, he or she will be the face of the company’s technical service team, working directly with customers to ensure their instruments operate reliably and efficiently. Responsibilities will include system installations, troubleshooting mechanical and electronic issues, performing preventative maintenance, and providing basic user training. This role requires a mix of hands-on technical skill, professionalism, and a strong customer service mindset.
He or she will support a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, chemicals, mining, semicon and academic research. The ideal candidate combines a strong technical foundation in instrumentation with the ability to communicate effectively, manage time independently, and work in field-based or laboratory environments.

 

Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning
 Perform on-site installation and system qualification of analytical instruments.
 Verify equipment performance through IQ/OQ protocols in compliance with customer or regulatory requirements.


Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
 Conduct regular preventive maintenance as per service schedules.
 Diagnose and repair hardware, software, or performance-related issues.
 Replace faulty components and update firmware/software as needed.


Customer Support & Training
 Provide technical support to end-users on basic troubleshooting and system care.
 Deliver user training post-installation to ensure successful handover.
 Escalate complex cases to application specialists or technical support engineers as required.


Documentation & Compliance
 Maintain accurate service logs, installation reports, and calibration certificates.
 Adhere to company and industry compliance requirements (e.g., GMP, ISO, safety).
 Manage inventory and parts usage during field service operations.


Internal Collaboration
 Coordinate with technical support, sales, and product teams for seamless customer service.
 Provide feedback on recurring issues or design flaws to engineering or QA teams.
 Assist in creating service SOPs and best practice documentation.

 

Education Requirements:

 Minimum: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Applied Sciences.
 Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Physics, especially for complex instruments like LC-MS or spectroscopy
platforms. Certifications in equipment calibration, ISO standards, or safety procedures are an asset.

 

Other Qualifications:

Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical & analytical systems.
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, service manuals, and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in customer-facing roles.
Proficiency in English; other languages are a plus depending on region.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel anywhere in Luzon
