Title:  Senior Product Development Technologist - Processed Meat

Description: 

Reformulation & Technical Projects

1. Conduct reformulations as needed due to raw material changes, regulatory updates, supply constraints, quality improvements, or cost optimization initiatives.

2. Evaluate alternative ingredients and processing methods while maintaining product integrity and sensory attributes.

3. Perform product trials, validations, and technical assessments during reformulation activities.

4. Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on trial outcomes and data analysis.

5. Work closely with cross-functional teams and provide technical support as needed.

6. Manage and maintain existing/core product formulations to ensure consistent quality, performance, and compliance.

 

Shelf-life Studies

1. Plan, execute, monitor, and document shelf-life studies for existing and newly reformulated products.

2. Analyze stability data and recommend appropriate shelf-life parameters and storage conditions.

3. Ensure shelf-life testing protocols align with regulatory, customer, and company standards.

4. Coordinate laboratory evaluations, sensory assessments, and microbial testing as required.

 

Documentation and System Management

1. Ensure all product documentation systems are complete, organized, accurate, and up to date.

2. Maintain formulation records, specifications, technical documents, change controls, and validation reports.

3. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer documentation requirements.

4. Support internal and external audits by providing required technical documentation.

 

Administrative Support

1. Performs all above duties and responsibilities in accordance with GMP, HACCP, HSE requirements and company corporate values, and provides inputs on possible improvements to systems, processes/ procedures in compliance to set standards.

2. Manages tasks/ projects (eg: sensory evaluations, trainings and seminars) as may be specifically assigned by the R & D Head.

3. Ensures real time recommendations to requests for support from Sales, Production, PPIC, Purchasing, RA, and QA and Engineering.

 

Additional Duties

1. Documents all work activities according to established procedures and guidelines, and prepare project reports, such as but not limited to K2 NPD requests system/SFDC, product development sheets, product usage instructions, production trial reports, experimental reports, sensory evaluation reports, etc.

2. Keeps documents recorded from meetings, technical studies, statistical analysis, sensory evaluations, trainings and seminars, and other such reports.

3. Prepares regulatory documents – Product Specification Sheet (PSS), Product Usage instructions (PUI), Product Design Safety Assessment (PDSA), Manufacturing Instructions (MI), Label and Certificate of Ingredient Declaration (CID) - as may be required by government agencies & internal-external customers.

4. Keeps abreast of new equipment/ingredient technology, product safety, new product launches within the relevant market, and other trend-setting advancements that may enhance the quality of new product development.

5. Performs other duties and tasks as management deems necessary to support the company’s business objectives.

Requirements:

1. Graduate of BS Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

2. Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in product development, product maintenance, or R&D within the food or consumer goods industry.

3. Strong experience in shelf-life studies, reformulation projects, and product lifecycle management.

4. Knowledge of food safety systems, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

5. Experience with documentation management systems and technical reporting.

6. Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.

7. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

8. Experience in customer engagement, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and handling business partner requirements is an advantage.

9. Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, and innovation management systems is preferred.
