Coordinator, Payroll & People Services

Based in Sydney, we’re looking for a Coordinator, Payroll & People Services to join our HR team and play a key role in delivering accurate payroll, exceptional employee support, and smooth HR operations for our teams across Australia and New Zealand.

 

About the role

In this role, you’ll support end‑to‑end payroll processing, ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand legislation, and be the first point of contact for payroll queries. You’ll also work closely with our People Services team to support onboarding, employee lifecycle administration, data entry, HR documentation, and reporting.

 

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where accuracy, confidentiality, and great communication really matter.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

Payroll Operations

  • Process end‑to‑end payroll for Australia and New Zealand
  • Maintain employee lifecycle changes (hires, terminations, salary changes, allowances, deductions, leave)
  • Support payroll validations, reconciliations, and issue resolution
  • Generate payslips and statutory payroll reports
  • Ensure data accuracy across HRIS and payroll systems

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Apply Awards, NES, Fair Work, and NZ employment legislation
  • Ensure compliance with STP, PAYG, superannuation, PAYE, KiwiSaver, ACC
  • Support audits, month‑end, year‑end, and statutory reporting
  • Maintain payroll records in line with legislative requirements

 

Employee Support

  • Be the first point of contact for payroll queries across ANZ
  • Provide clear, timely advice on pay, leave, deductions, and taxation
  • Escalate complex matters to senior payroll specialists when needed

 

People Services Support

  • SAP data entry and employee file management
  • Prepare and distribute employment contracts and letters
  • Support onboarding and facilitate quarterly induction sessions
  • Upload training hours to SuccessFactors

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 2–3 years’ payroll administration experience (AU/NZ preferred)
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Awards, NES, PAYG, PAYE, KiwiSaver
  • Experience with payroll systems such as MicrOpay, ADP, SAP, Chris21, Datacom
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills and confidence with reporting
  • Strong communication and customer service mindset
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Proactive problem‑solver with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment
