Reporting to the National Business Manager, this role will be responsible for managing the end-user customer relationships in the Independent Grocery channel across the portfolio of DKSH Client brands like Lipton, Perrier, Nando’s, Little Bellies, La Zuppa. A highly autonomous role, you will own the customers in the independents channel across SA, delivering sales growth, new distribution, territory coverage & managing key MSO’s.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Servicing and growing the territory/customers on a regular ‘call cycle’ basis
  • Planning weekly ‘call cycle’ including promotions, submission of new lines, and marketing
  • Achieving distribution of core lines in stores
  • Building key customer relationships across various levels of stakeholders
  • Gaining optimum position of all products on shelf and on display
  • Stock ordering and Merchandising including display set-up
  • Exceeding monthly sales targets
  • Managing local multisite operator groups within territory
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. Business Insights, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Supply Chain) to ensure efficient and effective execution
  • Use customer relationship management systems to build the database of customers and manage these customers effectively and provide timely and accurate data and reports

 

To be successful you will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years FMCG experience within Independent Grocery experience
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of the industry/ market/ competitors/ customers
  • Existing relationships with key MSO’s (multi-site operators) - Drakes, Chapleys, Romeos, Foodland house) and Independent Stores
  • Demonstrating strong relationship and selling skills and proven key customer management experience, in Independent Grocery channel is a must
  • Demonstrate solid negotiation and strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Extensive experience with CRM systems
  • An enthusiastic go-getter with excellent time management, an eye for detail and works well under pressure
  • An organised approach to planning in advance
  • A valid Australian drivers’ licence
  • A degree in Business/Marketing or related fields (desirable)
