Job Summary

1. Responsible for the internal control system (ICS) framework which primarily includes coordination of internal control risk assessments, oversight of and supporting the planning and completion of test of controls, and evaluating, reporting and driving and supporting group and country-based resolution control deficiencies to ensure the adequacy of the internal controls system.

2. Responsible for local LOA update and checking for the implementation situations.

3. Participate in process design and improvement initiatives.

4. Leading the AR and Credit Control team. Manage AR booking and AR clearing process, manage the customer master data system, implement CN credit control policy, monitor and improve the whole control process and reduce AR uncollectable risk.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead the application and review of the local internal controls system (ICS) 
  • Review and appraise the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of ICS, including compliance procedures and controls and timeliness of documentation generation 
  • Oversight to ensure Group ICS framework are applied as intended for local ICS, including group policies for ICS and control objectives for core processes and key risks in order to ensure that the local team has adequate controls to prevent unintentional and intentional errors in key business processes 
  • Ensure ongoing training and development support for country ICS process owners 
  • Deliver adequate and timely reporting on ICS and control deficiencies to Group to ensure appropriate communication, documentation, escalation to business partners, senior leadership and the audit committee 
  • Deliver adequate and timely action plans and monitor progress to address and resolve control deficiencies 
  • Actively seek standardization and automation through efficient use of systems
  • Active involvement in projects and ad hoc activities to standardize and simplify end to end finance processes resulting in continuous improvement of administrative efficiencies, as well as the effectiveness of the control environment 
  • Leading a team of people and involved into daily operation including AR booking, AR clearing, customer credit control processing, order release and other transactional tasks.
  • Follow-up on key outstanding debtors and recommend solutions to recover debts. Critically assess those balances that are no longer recoverable 
  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives to streamline existing credit control processes and improve efficiencies through a better utilization of automated systems 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders in improving AR clearing process and other area of AR in resolving potential issues. 
  • As the owner of the CCF system (customer application and credit control system), ensure the system has the proper approval flow setup according to the LOA, and driving for the system improvements and simplifications. 
  • Monitor and liaise with internal and external stakeholder on customer reminders and legal matter
  • Perform other related duties as and when is required.

Functional Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and interest in technology and systems to support internal control effectiveness and efficiency 
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of local/international accounting standards, principles and practices; credit control experience is preferred
  • Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications is an advantage 
  • Demonstrate strong research and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint) 
  • Demonstrate fluency in English (both written and spoken)

Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
