Title: Assistant Manager Distribution Center Operations

Job summary:
- To assure the daily and weekly operational needs of a large and busy warehouse.
- To monitor that all activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee and take responsibility for all staff and ensure that procedures to the operations are complied with.
- To understand and follow up on all picking requirements and the interaction to an efficient and smooth operation.
- To conduct cycle count as scheduled.
- To effectively supervise the cost effective and efficient operation. To resolve and foster good relations with clients and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all staff have assignments for the day and the undertaking of these assignments are being completed correctly.
- Complete all the picking functions of all departments and ensure that the products are consolidated at dispatch in a manner that will enable accurate loadings.
- Complete attendance records of all staff and compile daily work statistics as required by management.
- To facilitate a clean and tidy warehouse and maintain integrity of stocks and pick locations.
- Comply with accepted occupational health and safety standards and reporting of incidents in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all Materials Handling Equipment is maintained and used in a company accepted manner .
- To check daily the “Outstanding Invoice” report and take appropriate action as needed.
- Report any losses or damages within the warehouse on products or assets.
- To part-take in company stock counts and cycle count processes, and aid in the preparation of said activities, ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Organize daily workload to optimize resources
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients
- Monitor invoices for immediate action when urgent and critical invoices are known
- Follow up all daily requirements as laid out by Operations Management, with documented actions and work towards a daily completion of all orders.
- To ensure that picking accuracy achieves 99.5%, order accuracy of 98%, replenishment accuracy at 98%.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma/Certificate in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related field
- Computer literate, with the capability to use systems for information access and report functions
- Experienced in MS Office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Inventory controls and knowledge on impacts of inaccurate pick face. Able to ensure integrity of stocks is maintained and administered.
- Total quality of all operational duties to ensure accurate order picks and product receipts
- Profit drivers of warehouse activities and how best to utilized available resources
- Work on shifts and flexible hours to accommodate daily requirements
- Strategic planning of long and mid-term for departments and operations as a whole
- Operational review to provide a continual improvement process
- Customer service and impact of communicating with both internal and external customers to give accurate and timely information
- Ability to ensure sales orders completion and understanding of delivery concepts
