Specialist Accounting
Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily transactions (AP/AR), and ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards. This role plays a key part in the month-end closing process, reconciliations, and supporting internal/external audits to ensure the financial integrity of the organization.
General Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR): Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and client billing in a timely manner.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and vendor accounts on a monthly basis.
- Month-End Close: Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax filings (VAT, corporate tax, etc.) and supporting documentation.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy.
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications is an advantage
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Education
- Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline
- CPA, AICPA, or equivalent certification is a plus.
