Job Summary

  • Manage and monitor inventory operations to ensure inventory is planned at optimal level to meet target turns, working capital performance and revenue growth

General Responsibilities

  • Manage operating departmental budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient allocation of resources, where applicable
  • Manage and develop inventory management strategies, guidelines and processes to ensure inventory is planned at optimal level to meet target turn
  • Develop demand planning and improve forecasting tools to maximize service delivery performance, inventory turns, working capital performance and revenue growth
  • Manage and adjust inventory plans to respond to product demand changes and employ an appropriate strategy for each inventory class
  • Manage existing inventory using material requirements planning (MRP) system to maximum effect for optimum inventory scheduling and forecasting
  • Monitor and highlight over/under stocking and propose strategies to improve forecasting process
  • Develop and review scorecard with internal stakeholders to monitor service levels, progress against business objectives and take corrective actions as required
  • Manage and monitor cost and efficiency improvements for inventory management to achieve the optimal level of inventory holdings versus fulfillment
  • Working closely with the logistics and product managers on the inventory control of stock levels
  • Other task assigned by superior

Functional Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of inventory planning methodologies and systems
  • Demonstrate working understanding of distribution centers, distribution and transport
  • Proven experience in inventory management, procurement systems and logistics operations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of SAP - material requirements planning (MRP) system
  • Proven experience in the consumer goods, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrate appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities especially in international/cross-cultural interactions
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrate fluency in English, both written and spoken

Education

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or other related fields
