Job Summary
Manage general accounting activities, including general ledger recording and accounting for inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax, corporate finance, treasury, etc. Prepare financial reports for internal/external statutory reporting
General Responsibilities
- Manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources (where applicable)
- Implement accounting processes and strong internal controls to ensure governance over accounting and reporting activities
- Manage the timely and accurate recording of general journal/ledger entries, including month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance to local/international accounting standards
- Prepare inventory reports, provisions and inventory write-offs. Prepare the monthly accounts receivable and accounts payable status reports, debtors' aging, collections status, etc. for decision-making purposes
- Manage tax accounting, computations and tax filing according to local tax requirements. Handle all matters related to corporate finance, treasury, working capital management, foreign exchange, etc.
- Prepare financial budgets, accounts analyses, reconciliations and analyze budget-to-actual variances. Prepare financial reports for internal/external statutory reporting
- Manage continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the timeliness, accuracy and quality of accounting and financial reporting
- Partner with the relevant internal stakeholders on their financial information needs and analyses for decision-making/internal audit purposes
- Manage key external stakeholders in driving timely and quality external audit process and reporting
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of local/international accounting standards, principles and practices
- Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications is an advantage
- Demonstrate advanced research and analytical skills
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Education
Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline
