 About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) supports DKSH's Healthcare business unit in Malaysia by advancing the medical affairs strategy for client-related products and delivering the integrated brand plan in alignment with business priorities. This role serves as a trusted scientific resource, building deep and credible relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and key stakeholders across the Malaysian healthcare landscape. 

 

What You Will Deliver

  • Identify disease and product-related medical needs within a defined geography to inform and shape the medical affairs strategy for assigned products
  • Establish frequent and timely interactions with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) aligned with client medical strategies, facilitating evidence-based discussions on the safe and appropriate use of approved products and pharmacoeconomic data
  • Respond to unsolicited questions on current medical and scientific issues, healthcare advances, treatment trends, and health outcomes measures, engaging nationally and regionally recognized scientific leaders, medical advisors, and patient advocacy stakeholders
  • Translate complex medical information and scientific data into high-quality, credible dialogue, drawing on a sophisticated understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, including commercial and government payer strategies and evolving healthcare delivery models
  • Deliver scientifically rigorous presentations to healthcare decision-makers in response to unsolicited inquiries, using relevant and approved materials
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of related therapeutic areas to support meaningful and impactful scientific engagement with HCPs and TLs
  • Identify and train client contracted speakers or internal team members where aligned with the medical plan and product life cycle requirements
  • Identify, collect, and communicate insights on competitive medical information, regulatory trends, and changes in the payer environment to support the development of robust medical strategies

 

 What You Bring

  • Terminal doctoral degree – Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – is preferred; or a life or health science degree with relevant experience in a pharmaceutical environment and Medical Affairs function
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment, excluding postdoctoral education
  • In-depth knowledge of a scientific or clinical area, including disease area expertise and familiarity with key scientific publications
  • Good understanding of clinical research principles, the Malaysian healthcare system, the local pharmaceutical industry, and health economic practices
  • Sound knowledge of the industry landscape, market dynamics, competitors, and customer environment, with a proven track record in assigned products or services and an established professional network
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements for products within assigned territories, including handling procedures, shelf life, and warranty considerations
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the confidence and articulation to build trusted relationships with senior scientific stakeholders
  • Advanced research and analytical skills with strong conceptual capabilities and the ability to work independently
  • Full compliance with all company policies, applicable local laws, regulations, and ethical standards
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel as required across assigned geographies
