Job Summary
The Assistant / Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing key customer accounts, developing new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with manufacturers, molders, and distributors. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of plastics materials, resin applications, and the local manufacturing ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
Identify and acquire new customers in injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, film, and compounding segments.
Promote a full range of polymer materials, including commodity resins, engineering plastics, and recycled grades.
Conduct market visits, technical discussions, and product presentations to customers.
Account Management
• Manage existing customer portfolio; maintain strong relationships and high customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with customers to understand material requirements, pricing, lead time, and technical needs.
• Handle quotations, sales orders, and price negotiations.
• Monitor customer demand forecasts, inventory rotations, and supply chain coordination.
Internal Coordination
• Work with logistics, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
• Support technical trials, customer sampling, and product qualification with suppliers.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers on product information, pricing, and lead time.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 ~ 8 years of sales experience in plastics trading, resin distribution, or manufacturing environment (strong advantage).
- Knowledge of polymer materials is advantage.
- Diploma or Degree in Business Accounting, Marketing, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (preferred).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop new business and meet sales targets.
- Self-motivated, result-driven, and able to work independently.
- Ability to travel within Malaysia and Singapore for customer visits.
- Possess own transport.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an advantage for supplier communication).
