Title: Manager Employee & Industrial Relations

Job Summary : He/She will need to manage all the implementation of Employee Relations & Industrial Relations best practices and initiatives for DKSH Malaysia and align to Group HR strategies with Business Unit/country-level operations in order to achieve business results.
Job Responsibilities :
- Manage operating targets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources, where applicable
- Execute/manage management team's decisions on short-/long-term HR initiatives in line with company’s business direction
- Manage the employee/industrial relations policies and procedures to create sustainable employee/industrial relations experience
- Lead employee/industrial relations project implementation
- To collaborate with HR Leads to drive and report HR sustainability targets and achievements quaterly
- Communicate DKSH employee/industrial relations policies and procedures through communication sessions, presentations and training/in-house workshops
- Manage employee/industrial relations issues and discuss improvement opportunities with employees or department leaders
- Execute/manage M&A due diligence and projects with large cross functional collaboration and integration of targeted synergies
- Interface and maintain close relationships with groups inside and outside the organization (e.g. business groups, vendors, associations, labor organizations, etc.)
- Guide business leaders and HR practitioners on employee/industrial relations knowledge to effectively minimize company's legal exposure
- Provide advice on labour laws, company policies and HR practices
- Handle grievances and disciplinary procedures including conducting investigations, preparing the necessary disciplinary letters and conducting domestic inquiries
- Representing company for cases involving escalation at IR office, Labour office and Industrial Relations Court
- Conduct trade union negotiations for collective agreement renewals with external trade unions – National Union of Commercial Workers (NUCW), Sabah Commercial Employees Union and Sarawak Commercial Employees Union.
Job Requirement :
- Degree in Law, Human Resources, or similar related discipline preferred
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar role/capacity of work
- Demonstrate experience in developing and implementing IR strategies/initiatives to achieve business goals with tangible HR metrics
- Demonstrate understanding of the business, its levers for growth, its change dynamics and critical success factors
- Demonstrate experience in analyzing complex data, understand business implications and make recommendations to the management team
- Demonstrate experience and knowledge in both strategic and tactical HR core functions
- Demonstrate fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Able to think and act systemically, comfortably lead through ambiguity and uncertainty, and able to drive continuous improvement
- Well experience conducting Union negotiations and M&A projects and implementation
- Well versed in Malaysian Employment Act and Industrial Relations Act
