Job Summary:
Implement the tax policy. Advise on non-complex local tax compliance matters. Handle tax filing submissions and prepare reports/updates on tax compliance matters.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support superior in managing tax ad hoc operating budgets and costs via finance's annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources.
- Support the local implementation of the tax policy and controls to ensure effective governance over all taxation matters.
- Prepare basic information to assist discussions on tax disputes and coordinate scheduling of such discussions.
- Prepare tax computations, coordinate filing of tax returns, process tax payments, manage withholding tax, etc. to manage local tax compliance. Maintain tax submission documentations.
- Provide administrative support during tax audits, including preparation of basic tax information and schedules, coordinate meetings, etc. Support local tax audit defense.
- Gather and compile information needed for the preparation of reports and updates to the Group. Assist the superior in guaranteeing compliance with all local tax regulations.
- Assist in the implementation of the country's special projects/initiatives in providing value-added tax services to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders on basic queries and requests related to tax matters.
- Respond to basic queries and requests from tax authorities/auditors/external consultants in relation to regulatory requirements/tax audits/tax advisory engagements.
Job Requirements:
- Degree or professional qualification in Accountancy/Finance/Law or a related discipline
- Five to seven years experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate tax consulting environment
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of taxation principles, tax accounting and local tax regulations
- Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications is an advantage
- Demonstrate strong research and analytical skills
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
