Job summary :
The role is responsible for actively driving improvements in demand forecasting through the integration of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process within demand planning and collaboration with business partners. Key activities include identifying opportunities and risks, sharing best practices with colleagues, and managing product demand forecasting for mid- to long-term horizons. This involves utilizing various sources, such as sales, marketing, market data, and statistics, to achieve budgetary targets, maintain desired service levels, and meet other vital key performance indicators (KPIs). The position serves as the main driver of the S&OP process.
General responsibilities :
- Oversee the demand planning and management processes for both new and existing products.
- Develop and implement product demand plans to support organizational objectives.
- Assist in creating seasonal demand forecasts and anticipate customer reactions to promotions and discounts.
- Generate demand forecasts by analysing demand patterns and tracking business trends, including consideration of global impacts on forecasting.
- Collaborate with customers, the sales team, client management, and supply chain management to enhance forecast accuracy.
- Maintain demand plans to ensure cost-effectiveness while meeting customer needs.
- Support risk assessment and mitigation efforts, including analysis of return on investment and historical performance.
- Monitor actual offtake against forecast commitments monthly.
- Work closely with stakeholders to resolve demand-related queries and issues promptly.
- Organize monthly forecast meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to fulfil customer demands during periods of constrained supply.
- Maintain and enhance demand planning processes and systems to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable plans.
- Ensure KPIs such as forecast accuracy and forecast bias are met, including conducting thorough root cause analyses.
- Manage the SKU rationalization process.
- Act as a key member of the S&OP process, including onboarding clients to S&OP.
Functional skills and knowledge :
- Contribute as a team member to ensure effective achievement of team goals.
- Promote self-learning and continuous improvement in forecasting and DKSH behaviors.
- A minimum of one to two years’ experience in a similar role is required.
Education :
Degree or advanced diploma in business, supply chain, logistics, statistic or a related field.
