About the Role

The Associate Director, Finance Business Partnering leads the overall finance function for DKSH's Performance Material business unit in Malaysia, encompassing Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), financial forecasting, annual financial budgeting, and working capital management, while delivering meaningful insights into financial performance. This role is critical in driving high-quality business control, strategic decision-making, and continuous improvement across the business unit.

 

 What You Will Deliver

  • Manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient and responsible use of resources
  • Oversee the annual target-setting process within the country Business Unit, ensuring strong management of targets, forecast accuracy, working capital control, business performance including top line, costs, Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT), and currency impact
  • Lead the implementation of global templates, facilitate reviews, and provide constructive challenge to country Business Unit submissions, including plan consolidation and annual budget presentation preparation for the Senior Executive Team
  • Analyze country Business Unit monthly performance based on various data sources including CORE, Crystal, and Prism, to derive a consistent and actionable picture of current performance, key issues, and required actions
  • Prepare and present the Business Unit's monthly operations review to the Country Finance Manager
  • Support the country Business Unit on contractual negotiations, client and customer profitability analysis, internal and external presentations, issue tracking and management, investments, and other key developments requiring financial inputs
  • Analyze and constructively challenge the country Business Unit on key financial items such as advertising and promotion spend, working capital utilization, and cost development
  • Lead country Business Unit strategy setting and strategic projects, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) due diligence, restructurings, disposals, and joint venture negotiations and management
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline Business Unit controlling processes and reporting, improving efficiencies through better utilization of automated systems such as Lighthouse and Exceedra
  • Manage internal interactions across the country Business Unit on business controlling matters to ensure timely understanding of financial performance and effective management of financial issues
  • Work closely with Group Business Unit controllers to drive consistency in analytics and reporting standards
  • Deliver high-quality business control support to the country Business Unit at all times
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 2 Managers, driving change, process improvements, and a culture of breakthrough thinking, agility, and continuous learning 

 

 What You Bring

  • Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity
  • Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications; proficiency in Power BI is an advantage
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including statistical computations and data-driven decision-making
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of business and industry dynamics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
