Job Summary

Ensures accurate and compliant financial accounting and reporting across assigned Business Units through strong operational oversight and effective internal controls.

The role drives the resolution of complex accounting matters and oversees key financial close and audit deliverables to maintain high standards of financial integrity.

It also supports major finance initiatives such as M&A activities, system enhancements, and process integrations to strengthen overall governance and operational efficiency.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial accounting activities, ensuring all postings are accurate, timely, compliant with accounting standards, and supported by strong internal controls. Continuously review and enhance accounting processes to uphold high data integrity.
  • Oversees the finance operations of assigned Business Units to ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the resolution of complex accounting matters by coordinating across key stakeholders - including BPO teams, FBP (Finance Business Partnering), and relevant operational units - to ensure issues are investigated, escalated (where needed), and resolved in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, proper documentation, and adherence to corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.
  • Review, validate, and submit monthly hard close and annual year-end close reporting packages, ensuring all deliverables meet group timelines, accounting standards, and audit expectations.
  • Manage end-to-end financial accounting and reporting processes, including preparation of management accounts, review of journal entries, maintenance of master data governance, development of draft financial statements, and coordination of statutory audits. Provide leadership and support to ensure timely closure of audit queries and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support M&A activities, system upgrades, or migration exercises, ensuring smooth integration into existing accounting processes, accurate financial impact assessment, and proper documentation

 

Job Requirements

  • Degree of professional qualifications in accounting/Finance or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role preferably with country controlling/audit/accounting/compliance exposure
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of finance and accounting processes, IT systems, contract management, and a good understanding of the business and industry.
  • Applies local and international accounting standards and principles accurately across financial activities.
  • Brings practical experience working in an SAP accounting environment (an added advantage).
  • Exhibits strong research and analytical abilities, including statistical analysis and interpretation of financial data.
  • Shows strong interest and competency in technology and systems that enhance internal control effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Proficient in key office productivity tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
