Title:  Senior Engineer, Technical Services - Scientific Instrumentation

About The Role

The Senior Engineer, Technical Services – Scientific Instrumentation delivers expert field service support for analytical products within DKSH's Technology business unit in Malaysia. This role ensures customers achieve maximum value from their scientific instrumentation through professional installation, scheduled maintenance, technical training, and responsive repair services across the Klang Valley region.

What You Will Deliver

• Execute installation and commissioning of scientific instrumentation, including X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), sample preparation equipment, and particle size analyzers, ensuring full operational readiness for customers
• Perform scheduled annual and half-yearly preventive maintenance services to sustain instrument reliability and minimize customer downtime
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair scientific instrumentation promptly and effectively, delivering resolutions that protect customer productivity and satisfaction
• Provide technical support and hands-on training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance best practices, building their confidence and competence
• Mentor and coach junior field service engineers and technicians, strengthening team capability and technical depth across the service function
• Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation that ensure accurate tracking and accountability
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify recurring product issues and propose improvements that enhance long-term instrument reliability
• Coordinate with sales, application, and customer teams to ensure seamless and successful project execution from start to completion
• Manage spare parts inventory and recommend stocking requirements to maintain service readiness and business continuity
• Process warranty claims on faulty spare parts, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and support warranty investigations through structured root cause analysis
• Contribute to growing service contract volumes and spare parts sales through proactive and professional customer engagement
• Respond to emergency service calls and provide after-hours support when required to meet critical customer needs

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics and/or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification
• 7 to 10 or more years of field service, maintenance, or technical support experience
• Strong technical knowledge of analytical instruments with functional expertise in troubleshooting laboratory and scientific research equipment
• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial or technical equipment
• Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills with a systematic, detail-oriented approach to problem resolution
• Proficiency in office productivity tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) instruments, or cold storage equipment is an added advantage
