Key Account Manager – General Trade

We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager – General Trade to join our Consumer Goods team in Auckland. This is a pivotal commercial role responsible for managing key general trade, wholesale, and oil channel customers while delivering profitable, sustainable growth across our agency brand portfolio.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Business Manager – General Trade, you will take ownership of key customer relationships, lead commercial execution, and ensure DKSH brands are represented to their fullest potential across the general trade landscape.

You will work closely with internal sales, supply chain, marketing, and finance teams to deliver strong commercial outcomes through disciplined forecasting, effective trade spend management, and collaborative planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture strong, value-driven relationships with key general trade, wholesale, and oil channel customers
  • Drive profitable and sustainable growth across assigned agency brands
  • Present new product developments (NPD), promotional plans, and category reviews to customers
  • Provide accurate sales, volume, and A&P forecasts in line with S&OP processes
  • Monitor and manage trade spend in line with approved budgets
  • Identify opportunities to expand product listings, distribution, and brand visibility
  • Ensure effective execution and representation of the DKSH portfolio across all relevant channels
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational planning and deliver customer excellence

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in Key Account, Category, and/or Portfolio Management within FMCG
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing forecasts, trade spend, and promotional planning
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships
  • Strategic, critical thinking and project management skills
  • High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset
  • Proficiency in CRM and reporting tools (MS Office, Power BI, MS Teams)
  • A current full driver’s licence
