Job Summary

  • The Regional Therapeutic Area Medical Lead will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective planning, execution, and monitoring of the regional medical-scientific strategy across the lifecycle of the products in the respective therapy area.
  • Leads performance optimization while maintaining governance oversight of medical launch KPIs, including target patient outcomes, regional activities related to ME engagement, evidence generation as per strategic needs of the product lifecycle.
  • Responsible for ensuring the brand strategies and action plans integrate critical needs of the region, resulting in fit-for-purpose medical content as per local county needs. Responsible for Phase IV budget planning and investment for the therapy area.

General Responsibilities

Medical Affairs:

  • Act as regional medical affairs expert for the respective therapy area
  • Articulate the consolidated medical voice for the region
  • Define the medical affairs strategy and plan, in coordination with the brand /TA strategy.
  • Operational excellence in medical affairs: medical insights at a regional level, data gaps and RWE studies proposed (subject to client approval), medical activities during pre-launch and launch – growth phase, scientific support to promotional events, omnichannel engagement across the region etc.
  • Identify the needs of medical affairs capabilities in countries to support the country local medical team in terms of training and strategic inputs on the brand plans.
  • Collation of region-specific insights into where appropriate to feed into brand strategy.
  • Develop and execute tactical Medical Affairs strategies related to external partner management, medical education, evidence generation and scientific communications.
  • Prepare and track regional medical KPIs for the therapy area with special focus on external impact on medical experts and external stakeholders.
  • Establish high level scientific relationships and partnerships with Medical Societies, MEs and other key stakeholders / institutions or other notified bodies.
  • Develop strategy to generate scientific non promotional content to support the creation of a scientific community of HCPs via digital platform / channels to improve patient care in selected categories.
  • Ensure respective team provides support with adequate scientific product knowledge training to the commercial teams.
  • Provide input into development and implementation of successful reimbursement and market-access strategies.

Work Experience: 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical medical affairs & clinical research, relevant therapy area experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of medical strategic lead experience in country. Cluster / Regional  experience is essential
  • Proven experience in diverse and agile work setting, with relevant experience in both developed and developing health care systems.
  • Highest ethical standards in corporate medical governance.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Sub-Specialty would be advantage.
