We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Health, Safety, Environment Specialist to join our team in Southbank, Melbourne. As the key custodian of safety practices within DKSH, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Australian regulations and global requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSEQ policies and procedures across all Australian sites
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments, root cause analysis, and incident investigations
  • Lead Workers' compensation claims investigations and manage injured workers' rehabilitation
  • Monitor waste minimization initiatives to ensure alignment with environmental laws
  • Coordinate and deliver on-site training and WHS toolbox talks
  • Liaise with government bodies and professional organizations on HSEQ matters
  • Manage all record-keeping and reporting, analyse HSEQ statistics, and report on trends
  • Actively promote a safety culture and awareness across the Australian DKSH group of businesses

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety/Certificate IV in WH&S
  • Good knowledge in Dangerous Goods Regulations and Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulations
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • First Aid certification
  • ISO9001 Quality Certification
  • Knowledge of the Chain of Responsibilities legislation
  • Certified Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) Investigator (desirable)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Experience in a matrix structure organization, preferably in a chemical and pharmaceutical environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong collaborative and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and approach situations logically
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
