We are looking for a proactive, hands-on & detail-oriented tax analyst to join our dynamic team! This is a newly created & unique role where you will play a key part in managing tax obligations for a large multinational organisation being a significant global entity. Your day-to-day will primarily involve handling direct and indirect tax compliance obligations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role requires someone who is operational, able to hit the ground running and able to get into the detail.

DKSH in Australia has quite a dynamic tax function to match a rapidly growing business with various business structural changes occurring each year on account of M&A activities and expanding business. Considering the size and global presence of the business, you will get experience in various types of taxes such as income taxes, international tax, transfer pricing, GST, FBT & payroll tax. You will work closely with the Australian tax manager, local finance team and coordinate occasionally with the global tax team and global shared services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with the preparation of Australian income tax returns for income tax consolidated groups including stub income tax returns and tax consolidation calculations
  • Assistance with the preparation of fringe benefit tax returns for the various legal entities,
  • Preparation of transfer pricing documentation and assisting with transfer pricing compliances
  • Preparation of business activity statements, instalment activity statements
  • Lodgement of monthly payroll tax returns and assistance with preparation of annual reconciliations
  • Ensuring timely completion of withholding tax compliances and annual lodgements
  • Recording month-end tax accrual journals and assisting with hard-close compliances
  • Monitor tax payments and communication with the ATO
  • Supporting the maintenance process of tax general ledgers – tax ledger reconciliation
  • From time-to-time, assisting with providing tax advice to queries raised by internal stakeholders, other tax governance improvement initiatives, other ongoing projects and supporting M&A processes
  • Effectively coordinating and collaborating with key internal stakeholders across the Australian business and finance teams and the global tax team

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Accounting/Commerce or Law
  • 2-3 years tax experience in either a mid-large professional accounting firm or an in-house corporate tax team
  • Tax technical awareness and experience in income tax, FBT, GST, and withholding taxes works
  • CA/CPA qualification desired
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles particularly tax effect accounting and tax accruals
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in SAP is desirable
  • Commercial awareness - understand the connections between tax and business is very important for this role
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and results focused with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
