The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Food & Beverage Ingredients team. In this role, you will take ownership of customer and client portfolios, delivering true “end-to-end” commercial outcomes. You’ll be responsible for developing strategy, building strong partnerships, and driving sales and profitability across New Zealand.

This role can be based in Auckland or Christchurch.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for assigned product portfolios
  • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and partnerships to protect and grow margins
  • Drive new business development and maintain a strong project pipeline
  • Champion client portfolios internally, sharing expertise and supporting colleagues
  • Leverage Salesforce CRM and digital marketing to accelerate projects and deliver results

What you’ll bring:

  • A degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related technical discipline (commercial qualifications an advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical sales and account management within specialty chemicals, ingredients, or related industries
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven success in driving growth
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills
  • Curiosity, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
