Sales Specialist – Scientific Instrumentation

The Technology division specialises in distributing and servicing sophisticated equipment and instruments used in laboratories, production, and quality control. Our Scientific Instrumentation portfolio includes cutting-edge solutions for material analysis, life sciences, environmental testing, and more.

We are seeking a driven, science-minded individual to join our team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of high-value customers and work closely with technical and product teams to deliver best-in-class solutions across the scientific sector. This role can be based in Queensland or NSW and also covers ACT and NT.

You’ll work autonomously within your assigned territory, with the backing of an experienced national team, CRM systems, and marketing resources. This is an ideal role for someone looking to bridge the gap between science and sales while driving measurable impact in the Australian technology space.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Customer Development

  • Manage and grow sales across your assigned region for scientific instrumentation
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in academia, research, industry, and government
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities using a structured sales pipeline
  • Maintain detailed records in Salesforce CRM, including visit logs, leads, and opportunity tracking

Technical Sales & Product Promotion

  • Understand customer needs and match them with appropriate products and solutions
  • Represent premium scientific brands with confidence and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Product Managers on positioning, competitive analysis, and technical application discussions
  • Conduct product presentations, demos, and technical discussions with end-users

Reporting & Strategic Input

  • Prepare sales forecasts, quotations, and tender responses
  • Provide ongoing market and customer insights to Sales and Product Management teams
  • Contribute to product improvement initiatives based on market feedback
  • Participate in key industry events, conferences, and marketing initiatives

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in science, engineering, or related field (chemistry, biology, materials science, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, lab-based work, or product support in the scientific/laboratory space
  • Strong relationship management and consultative selling skills
  • Confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people and solving complex problems
  • Organised, accountable, and proactive – with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (CRM) and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • A current driver's license and willingness to travel regionally as needed
