General responsibilities

• Full Development Lifecycle: Engage in every phase of the web development process, from initial design and development to debugging, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Technical Specifications: Convert user requirements and functional specifications into detailed technical specifications.
• Front-End and Back-End Development: Demonstrate robust front-end coding skills and contribute to both front-end and back-end development tasks.
• Performance Optimization: Enhance website performance and user experience across diverse devices and platforms.
• User Interface Testing: Rigorously test and debug user interfaces to ensure they meet user and business requirements.
• Quality Standards: Maintain high standards in technical requirements, best practices, processes and timelines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with content, social, analytics, and creative teams to create and implement web experience.
• Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in front-end development and web design.

Leadership responsibilities

• Technical Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear technical strategy, aligning development goals with the overall business objectives.
• Code Reviews: Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and high-quality code output.
• Performance Monitoring: Oversee performance testing and optimization efforts to ensure the website meets performance and scalability requirements.

Functional skills and knowledge

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Front-End Proficiency: Strong capabilities in CSS/CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript, with a deep understanding of responsive web design principles.
• Frameworks and Tools: Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries like jQuery, Bootstrap, and Tailwind. Proficiency with web development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Figma, and Postman.
• Back-End Knowledge: Understanding of PHP CMS (e.g., Drupal/WordPress), PHP frameworks like Laravel or CodeIgniter, and MySQL/database design.
• External Integrations: Familiarity with integrating third-party services such as Google Tag Manager, Google Maps, Google Analytics, Salesforce, and Chatbots
• Web Security and Standards: Knowledge of web security practices, web services, application and data integration, and web and data standards.

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Work experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial web development and content management systems (CMS).
