Description: 

This role is responsible for driving the strategy, design, implementation, and continuous evolution of Transport Management System (TMS) digital products. The incumbent acts as both an IT Application Owner and Leader, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-impact transport solutions that support operational excellence and business growth. As an application owner responsible for solution delivery, and operational support, ensuring that the transport platform remains performant, user-centric, and aligned with enterprise strategy. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

    • Define, own, and execute the application vision, strategy, and roadmap for Transport Management Systems.  

    • Manage and prioritize the application backlog, ensuring alignment with business value and ROI.  

    • Ensuring effective delivery of roadmap features.  

    • Drive continuous improvement through user feedback, analytics, and experimentation 

    • Ensure proper documentation of application business requirement documentation, functional documentation, technical specification, usage processes, and best practices.  

    • Monitor application performance, usability, and adoption across stakeholders. 

    • Lead end-to-end implementation of transport IT systems across markets.  

    • Conduct requirements gathering, application design, and gap analysis 

    • Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, and system designs.  

    • Configure systems, perform testing (unit, integration, UAT), and support go-live activities.  

    • Develop API/EDI interface specifications and reporting capabilities.  

    • Deliver user training and onboarding for new implementations.  

    • Provide ongoing support for production systems including incident resolution and change management.  

    • Manage system performance, uptime, and operational stability.  

    • Coordinate with vendors for issue escalation and enhancements.  

    • Maintain knowledge base, documentation, and support processes.  

    • Gather user feedback and drive platform enhancements for improved user experience.  

    • Act as a bridge between business users, operations, and technical teams.  

    • Collaborate with vendor development, design, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions.  

    • Engage with logistics, transport, and customer service teams to align system capabilities with operational needs.  

     

Key Requirements:

 

Experience: 10-15 years of hands-on experience in implementing transport management systems (TMS), including related tools like route optimization and transport billing. Experience in a complex organizational structure is a must.

 

Skills:

Functional skills and knowledge

    • Technical: Strong understanding of transportation and warehouse processes, experience with enterprise IT systems (SaaS or logistics tech), and familiarity with API integrations and data analytics.

    • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strong analytical abilities, a customer-oriented mindset, and the ability to influence and negotiate with various stakeholders.

    • Leadership: A self-starter who can drive their own learning and development, as well as set goals and manage the learning of the team.

Work experience 

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant implementation experience in transport management system and related tools (such as route optimization, transport billing, and transport business domain knowledge) 
  • Proven ability to navigate and succeed within complex organizational structures.
