Job Summary
Manage closing of accounts and financial reports preparation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform/review accounts analyses and reconciliations to ensure variances and reconciling items are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide improvement / manage continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the timeliness, accuracy and quality of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Partner with the relevant internal stakeholders on their financial information needs and analyses for decision-making purposes.
- Perform timely and accurate preparation of consolidation accounts for quarterly announcement and year end reporting in accordance with local/international accounting standards and compliance with Companies Act.
- Preparation of financial reports and presentation slides after month-end, quarterly and year-end closing for presentation to senior management, including trend/variance analyses and commentaries.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders for the timely reporting of financial results to senior leadership, Bursa Malaysia, Companies Commission and other regulatory bodies as necessary.
- Actively engage and coordinate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and timely audit and closure, including preparation of management accounts, provision of required schedules and supporting documents, preparation of draft accounts, resolution of all relevant risks and audit findings.
- Implement the Group's accounting processes and strong internal controls to ensure governance over accounting and reporting activities.
- Manage key external stakeholders in driving timely and quality external audit process and reporting.
Job Requirements:
- Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum three to five years experience in a similar role preferably in accounting and auditing with with a combination of in-house experience with a multinational enterprise and relevant Big 4 experience.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge in finance/accounting practices and processes, understanding of the business and industry etc.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of local/international accounting standards, principles and practices
- Proven experience operating in an SAP accounting environment is an advantage
- Demonstrate advanced research and analytical skills, including statistical computations
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and interest in technology and systems to support internal control effectiveness and efficiency
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
