• Design and continuously optimize network models (hub-and-spoke, cross-dock, direct delivery, hybrid models) to improve cost, speed, and service reliability
• Lead long-term transport planning, including network expansion, last mile coverage, and scalability for business growth
• Identify and implement structural improvements in routing, zoning, and delivery models
2. Capacity Planning & Service Readiness
• Own end-to-end transport capacity strategy, ensuring optimal balance between demand forecast and truck supply readiness
• Develop sustainable transporter capacity models (dedicated vs. spot, fleet mix, contract strategy)
• Ensure sufficient and timely truck supply for both linehaul and last mile delivery operations
• Drive transporter capacity optimization, including utilization, turnaround time, and asset productivity
3. Demand Forecast Integration & Scenario Planning
• Lead integration of warehouse volume forecast into transport planning and capacity strategy
• Translate demand patterns into medium- and long-term transport requirements
• Conduct scenario planning for peak periods, promotional spikes, and demand volatility
• Establish contingency frameworks to mitigate risks of capacity shortages or disruptions
4. Linehaul & Last Mile Optimization
• Oversee strategic planning and performance of linehaul and last mile delivery networks
• Optimize drop density, route efficiency, and cost per delivery through data-driven analysis
• Expand and strengthen last mile network footprint to support service level improvements
• Evaluate and implement alternative delivery models to enhance efficiency and flexibility
5. Cross-Functional Operations Alignment
• Act as the strategic bridge between transport, warehouse operations, and commercial teams
• Ensure alignment between staging, dispatch planning, and truck arrival schedules
• Drive operational synchronization to eliminate bottlenecks, congestion, and cross-dock backlog
• Establish governance to ensure smooth execution across all distribution nodes
6. Transporter Management & Governance
• Define transport strategy, including sourcing, onboarding, performance management, and retention
• Lead commercial and operational governance of transporters in collaboration with procurement
• Monitor and enforce KPIs (truck supply adherence, on-time performance, utilization, cost efficiency)
• Drive continuous improvement and accountability across transporter partners
7. Digitalization & Systems (TMS) Enablement
• Lead implementation and optimization of Transport Management System (TMS) and related digital tools
• Ensure full adoption of DKSH systems and SOP compliance across transporters and operations
• Enhance visibility through dashboards, analytics, and real-time performance tracking
• Leverage data and technology to enable predictive planning and decision-making
8. Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization
• Drive cost optimization initiatives across transport network (routing, consolidation, fleet utilization)
• Improve productivity metrics such as truck fill rate, turnaround time, and delivery efficiency
• Standardize best practices across cross-dock and dispatch operations
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and Healthcare logistics requirements
9. Risk Management & Service Continuity
• Identify and mitigate risks related to transport capacity, service disruption, and operational inefficiencies
• Develop robust contingency and recovery plans to ensure business continuity
• Maintain high service reliability across all regions and distribution channels
