Title:  Manager Tax

Job Summary

Manage the local implementation of the tax policy. Advise on all local/regional tax matters, lead discussions on tax disputes and oversee tax accounting/reporting to the Group

General Responsibilities

• Manage tax ad hoc operating budgets and costs via finance's annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources 
• Manage the local implementation of the tax policy and controls to ensure effective governance over all taxation matters
• Advise on all local tax matters, optimize tax position and identify potential tax saving opportunities through effective tax planning
• Lead discussions on local tax disputes, recommend solutions to mitigate tax risks and report significant tax risks to management
• Review tax computations and manage submission of the country's tax filing in compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage local/regional tax audits to ensure additional taxes are minimized
• Oversee tax accounting and reporting to the Group on general taxation matters, ensuring all local tax provisions are accounted for
• Drive the country's special projects/initiatives to provide value-added tax services to internal stakeholders
• Partner with internal stakeholders in navigating complex tax matters, including regional tax matters. Advise on the application of local tax regulations to business realities and taxation principles in tax accounting
• Lead discussions with tax authorities/auditors/consultants on the country's complex taxation matters, tax audits, tax advisory engagements, etc.

Functional Skills and Knowledge

• Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry
• Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of taxation principles, tax accounting and local tax regulations
• Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications is an advantage
• Demonstrate strong research and analytical skills
• Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Demonstrate fluency in English (both written and spoken)

Education

Degree or professional qualification in Accountancy/Finance/Law or a related discipline
