Title:  Manager Research & Development

Job Summary

The Manager, Research & Development acts as a key partner to support the Sales team performance, manage the development and formulation of chemical products to meet customer expectations, ensuring alignment between technical, commercial, and operational activities. The role focuses on supporting business growth through effective product coordination, supply reliability, and data-driven decision making.

General Responsibilities

• Work closely with Sales (Food & Beverage team, and potentially Pharma) to support customer needs and business growth.
• Monitor product availability/ stock llocation and coordinate with Planner, Import, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely supply, identify supply risks and communicate proactively to Sales and customers.
• Support customer management, including handling urgent inquiries and maintaining key customer portals.
• Ensure accurate and clean Sales Order management.
• Track and manage GM1 performance together with Business Line Manager.
• Manage overall generation and formulation of new commercial applications and products to provide additional revenue for the company
• Monitor product formulation guidelines and procedure compliance in order to improve existing products, reduce cost, improve performance or simplify manufacturing
• Compile/review latest product trends, ingredients or new development processes to identify product improvement
• Manage technical training for the sales team to upgrade their technical capabilities and product knowledge
• Ensure laboratory equipment and safety protocol adherence to ensure all product designs meet safety and regulatory requirements
• Co-visit key customers with sales to provide advisable technical information and solutions to customer

Functional Skills and Knowledge

• Min 12 years experience in the food ingredients or raw material Research & Development field

• Understanding of well rounded ingredients and also open to explore and learn ingredients as we are very dynamic in adding Clients / Suppliers + ingredients that are sell-able for the business

• having back ground from both Sweet & Savory applications, not only 1 as we have 2 labs to take care of with different applications

• Coming from flavor house as they familiar to expose themselves on different exposures everyday for many kinds and rounded knowledge of product applications from: bakery, sauces, snacks, beverages, seasoning, meat systems, etc rather than coming from 1 very veteran product line and too heavily experienced in only 1 section

• Demonstrate fluency in English, both written and spoken

Education

Bachelor's degree in Applied Science/Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering/Food Engineering/ Food Technology / Food Science background
