Job Summary
Responsible for negotiating the purchase of drug & medical supplies from suppliers for hospitals.
General Responsibilities
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of drug & medical supplies.
- Manage supplier relationships and maintain a supplier database.
- Develop procurement strategies that align with the company’s needs.
- Coordinate with hospital departments to determine their supply needs.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, customs, shipping and logistics companies, etc. as part of maintaining the sustainability of services provided
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Proven experience in procurement, specifically within a hospital setting.
- Experience with tendering and procurement process of hospital.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and supplies.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Education
Degree or professional qualification in Business Administration or related field
