Job Summary

  • Manage the development of engineering projects by planning, organizing and controlling all elements of the project.
  • Manage the applications engineering team to provide pre- and post-sales support to customers and prospects, including applications, demonstrations and sales visits related to technology/specialty industry equipment
  • Revenue and EBIT for engineering contracts
  • Managing operating departmental budgets and costs
  • Manage project budget and costs according to project allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources, where applicable.

General Responsibilities

1. Engineering Project Management:

  • Manage engineering projects by developing detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities
  • Provide technical guidance to support project design, development, testing and implementation phases.
  • Develop and review technical instructions for system set-up and installation activities.
  • Oversee product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Assess and emphasize risks related to engineering projects and develop mitigation plans.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with existing contracts.

2. Application Engineering:

  • Oversee and lead the design and development of equipment and systems or redesign of existing equipment to fulfill the needs of customers.
  • Review & determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements and performance standards.
  • Develop technical proposals, prepare cost estimates, delivery and commercial terms to secure orders.
  • Research and make recommendations for design enhancements or modifications to meet the ever-changing availability of technology and needs of the customer base.
  • Responsible for final system design creation and review.
  • Provide technical expertise on specific applications to generate sales leads and work collaboratively with the sales team.
  • Conduct product demonstrations/technical presentations to customers or at conferences to promote products and services.

3. Other tasks assigned by Line Manager

  • Manage and oversee team’s delivery of team/function goals to drive execution against goals set.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to encourage teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Identify training and development needs for team members to enhance their skills and capabilities

  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in Engine, Power Generation
  • Demonstrate understanding of corporate risk and customs compliance
  • Demonstrate fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), or a related field.

Working Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a managerial capacity
