About The Role
- The General Manager, Business Development leads the business development strategy and execution for DKSH's Healthcare Business Unit in Vietnam, driving new business growth across Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, and Consumer Health segments. This role is pivotal in shaping DKSH's commercial future by identifying strategic opportunities, deepening client relationships, and building a high-performing business development team.
What You Will Deliver
- Lead and execute the Business Development (BD) strategy across Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, and Consumer Health segments, driving new client acquisition and sustainable margin improvement.
- Establish and expand an influential network of clients, partners, and industry leaders, leveraging consultative selling to uncover and convert high-value opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth market and segment mapping to identify target clients, strategic therapeutic areas (TAs), and emerging growth opportunities including transitions from competitor pipelines.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the top 25 clients through stakeholder mapping and account intelligence, consistently exceeding expectations and growing Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) margin.
- Lead contract reviews and commercial negotiations, structuring agreements that deliver strong, long-term financial returns aligned with business objectives.
- Define and govern a standardized, data-driven BD process with robust engagement plans, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring, and quality Salesforce (SFDC) reporting to accelerate pipeline velocity.
- Drive cross-functional BD governance in close coordination with regional teams and internal partners to maintain funnel quality and execution excellence.
- Attract, develop, and retain top commercial BD talent, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in curiosity, empowerment, and integrity.
- Set clear team direction, drive learning and development initiatives, and ensure team goals are well-defined, aligned, and consistently delivered.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Science, or a related field; Master's degree in Business Administration or Marketing is an advantage
- 15 to 20 years of experience in healthcare industry management, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or hospital management
- 8 to 10 years of commercial leadership experience at management level in healthcare; background in a leading multinational company is recommended
- Diverse experience across therapeutic areas, functional roles, and go-to-market models including specialty, mass market, vaccines, and Over-the-Counter (OTC) consumer health
- Exposure to regional or global teams above country level is an advantage; business development experience is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of and established network within the healthcare industry
- Strong commercial business acumen with a proven track record in commercial leadership
- Consultative selling capability with strong listening and probing skills to identify and unlock new business opportunities
- Advanced negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
