Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Client Management is responsible for driving category growth and optimizing channel performance across key sales channels (General Trade, Modern Trade, and E-commerce where applicable). This role bridges Marketing and Sales by translating brand strategies into actionable in market execution, ensuring strong shopper engagement, effective assortment, and profitable growth.

General Responsibilities

1. Category Management

  • Analyze category performance, shopper behavior, and market trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Develop and optimize product assortment by channel and customer
  • Support pricing strategy and monitor price competitiveness across channels
  • Plan and evaluate promotional activities to maximize ROI and category growth
  • Collaborate with Marketing on category vision and innovation pipeline

2. Channel Management (GT, MT, E-commerce)

  • Develop tailored trade strategies for each channel (General Trade, Modern Trade, E-commerce)
  • Identify channel-specific opportunities and execution priorities
  • Ensure effective in-store and online visibility (planograms, displays, digital shelf)
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend actionable responses

3. Trade Marketing Planning & Execution

  • Lead the development of annual and quarterly trade marketing plans aligned with business objectives
  • Execute go-to-market strategies for product launches and key campaigns
  • Manage trade promotion budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources 
  • Work closely with Sales teams to ensure excellence in execution at point of sale

4. Sales Support & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales to develop customer-specific plans and drive sell-in/sell-out performance
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure alignment and smooth execution
  • Support key account planning and business reviews with insights and recommendations

5. Data Analysis & Performance Tracking

  • Track and analyze sales performance, promotion effectiveness, and channel KPIs
  • Generate regular reports and actionable insights for continuous improvement
  • Utilize data tools (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, internal dashboards) for decision-making
  • Forecast demand and support S&OP processes 

Functional Skills and Knowledge

1.Functional Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of FMCG industry dynamics and retail landscape
  • Solid experience in Trade Marketing, Category Management, or Channel Management
  • Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and promotion planning
  • Familiarity with retail audit data (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar) and Excel/BI/ Power query tools

2.Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capability
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • 3–5 years of experience in Trade Marketing, Category, Sales, or related roles (FMCG/retail preferred)
  • Fluency in English. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
