About the Role

Group Internal Audit is seeking a motivated and analytical intern to support the Fraud Investigation (6 month period) function in Thailand. The intern will work closely with the Fraud Investigation Manager and support the end-to-end investigation process, from data analytics, evidence review and interviews through to documentation, reporting and follow-up of next steps.

This internship is suitable for a student interested in fraud investigation, forensic accounting, internal audit, risk management, data analytics, process improvement and the practical use of AI in investigations.


Key Responsibilities

Fraud Investigation Support

  • Assist with fraud investigations from case initiation through to closure.
  • Support the gathering, organizing and review of evidence from multiple sources.
  • Assist in document reviews, transaction testing and fact-finding exercises.
  • Support interview preparation by analyzing information, organizing evidence and documenting key points.
  • Attend selected interviews where appropriate and assist with interview notes and summaries.

Data Analytics and Investigative Analysis

  • Perform data extraction, cleansing, manipulation and analysis using Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Identify unusual patterns, trends, anomalies and potential fraud indicators through data analysis.
  • Prepare analytical summaries, dashboards or visualizations to support investigations.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing data analytics routines for fraud detection and investigation support.
  • Explore opportunities to use AI tools and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain investigation files, working papers, evidence logs and case tracking documentation.
  • Assist in drafting investigation reports, management summaries and presentation materials.
  • Support trend analysis and periodic reporting on fraud cases, themes, root causes and outcomes.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, clear, objective and appropriately organized.

Process Improvement and Follow-up

  • Document investigation workflows, procedures and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support initiatives to streamline investigation activities through data analytics, automation and AI.
  • Track agreed next steps, corrective actions and case milestones.
  • Assist with follow-up activities to ensure actions are implemented and properly documented.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Third or fourth-year university student preferred.
  • Available for a minimum of 3 months, with 6 months preferred.
  • Strong academic performance and demonstrated analytical capability.
