Trade Spend Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Trade Spend Analyst to become an active part of our commercial team. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders as well as our customers and clients to deliver data-driven analysis of commercial investment, trade spend, and advertising and promotional activity. You’ll play a key role in assessing operating results, forecasting performance, and supporting strategic decision-making for our business.

This is a fixed-term contract based in our Ellerslie office, starting ASAP until April 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales, marketing, and finance teams on client and brand trade spend, profitability, monthly accruals, and forecasts, ensuring A&P funds are allocated effectively for optimal business results
  • Manage inputs and outputs for our Trade Spend tool (Exceedra), ensuring best practice in commercial investment/trade spend (A&P) and accurate reconciliation of outcomes
  • Prepare and present analytics, insights, comparisons, and recommendations to support strategic initiatives related to trade spend
  • Use proprietary systems and data to assist finance and commercial teams in analysing trade spend activity, including month-end reporting
  • Provide support to Accounts Receivable on A&P spend-related queries

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Coordinate planning and reporting for the Commercial team, National Sales Manager, and Business Unit Controller
  • Actively contribute to the wider Insights & Analytics community
  • Collaborate on improvement projects within the Consumer Goods Business Unit
  • Work with other support teams to create synergies in reporting and processes

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in FMCG commercial activity, reporting, and analysis
  • Strong technical skills with trade spend tools, SAP Business Objects, Excel (including VBA and PowerPivot), and advanced Power BI
  • Experience managing commercial investment, advertising, and promotional tools
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
  • A results-driven approach with a passion for achieving goals and taking ownership from start to finish
