Sales Specialist – Material Science Instrumentation
Are you passionate about science and motivated by building strong customer relationships? Do you thrive in a role where technical expertise meets commercial opportunity? We’re looking for a driven Sales Specialist to join our Material Science Instrumentation team and help grow our presence across the NZ market.
In this key customer‑facing role, you’ll partner with clients across a diverse range of industries to provide material science and analytical instrumentation solutions. You’ll manage your own territory, grow revenue within existing accounts, and develop new business opportunities.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a blend of technical conversations, customer engagement, and strategic sales development.
What You’ll Do
- Drive sales growth across your territory through regular customer visits, prospecting and account development
- Manage and track your opportunity pipeline using SFDC (CRM)
- Build strong relationships across all levels of customer organisations
- Prepare quotations and tender responses in line with company policies
- Own the representation and performance of our Material Science suppliers in your territory
- Collaborate with Sales Manager and Product Managers on product positioning, competitive insights and customer needs
- Capture leads from events and campaigns, and progress them through the sales pipeline
- Support continuous improvement in sales processes, customer satisfaction and internal collaboration
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in science or relevant industry experience
- Minimum two years in a similar role, or experience in a scientific/analytical environment with the desire to move into sales
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of analytical science or material science instrumentation
- Proficiency with SFDC (Salesforce) and MS Office tools
- Results‑driven mindset with a passion for growing your customer base
- Strong organisation, planning and follow‑through
