About The Role
As HR Director, New Zealand, you will hold full accountability for the Human Resources (HR) function and HR team, delivering a comprehensive range of HR services and strategic initiatives that align with DKSH's global and local business goals. Working closely with the Country Leadership Team, this role is central to shaping a high-performing culture, driving HR strategy implementation, and positioning DKSH as a Great Place to Work across New Zealand.
What You Will Deliver
- Lead and manage local HR operating targets and costs according to annual allocations, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources
- Provide strategic business partnering advice and direction to the Country Leadership Team and leaders across the full range of HR services to align with business goals
- Drive the implementation and alignment of global and country HR strategies, initiatives, and policies to enhance organizational effectiveness
- Lead the acquisition and development of talent through effective resourcing strategies that attract, engage, and retain key and critical talent
- Drive and monitor talent management for critical leadership positions, developing talent readiness and transition strategies
- Develop and review workforce planning strategies, including forecasting and short- to medium-term manpower requirements, to meet evolving business demand
- Develop and review change management initiatives with business leaders to effectively address human capital matters
- Develop targeted employee communications that engage the right audiences with clarity and purpose
- Review periodical data and reports to provide validated HR metrics and benchmarks that support business decision-making with Group HR and local management teams
- Work closely with the Country Leadership Team to shape and embed a culture aligned to DKSH values, implementing programs and initiatives that promote collaboration, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and sustainability
- Collaborate with Group HR in developing and operating strategic and tactical compensation programs and benefits structures, including payroll management and salary benchmarking in cooperation with the global Compensation and Benefits team
- Plan and review HR due diligence and restructuring activities associated with mergers and acquisitions
- Develop employee and industrial relations programs, ensuring full compliance with New Zealand legislative requirements
- Resolve conflict management situations for both informal and formal grievances through direct mediation or by coaching managers on a clear plan of action
- Lead the overall employee value proposition and employer branding, positioning DKSH as a Great Place to Work in New Zealand
- Lead and manage a high-performing HR team, driving learning and development in Human Resources and DKSH behaviors to achieve team and function goals
- Build the HR talent pool for bench strength and succession planning, championing continuous self-learning and professional improvement
- Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required
What You Bring
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a similar related discipline is preferred
- Up to 10 years of experience in a similar Human Resources leadership role
- Experience working in a Multinational Corporation (MNC) and highly matrixed organizations
- Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies and plans to achieve business goals with clear and tangible HR metrics
- Demonstrated ability to analyze business challenges and provide impactful HR recommendations to business leaders
- Strong business acumen, commercially savvy with solid knowledge of financials including Profit and Loss (P&L) and Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT)
- Strong knowledge of employment law in New Zealand
- Proven ability to apply high-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to analyze complex workforce issues and propose innovative, results-driven solutions
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders' expectations and deliverables both within HR and across Business Unit (BU) management
- Sound conflict resolution skills with experience managing both informal and formal grievance situations
- Experience in HR digitalization is an advantage
- Excellent stakeholder relationship-building skills with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities to drive consensus across a broad range of stakeholders
