Accounts Payable Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP function for New Zealand. Reporting to the Director, Country Finance, this role is responsible for overseeing supplier invoices, expense claims, payments, and vendor management, while ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and global finance standards.

With two direct reports based in our BPO site in Malaysia, you’ll play a key role in driving efficiency, process improvement, and team performance.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, fostering accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee end-to-end AP processes including invoice processing, reconciliations, vendor management, and payment runs
  • Ensure compliance with New Zealand tax regulations (e.g., GST), company policies, and internal controls
  • Monitor KPIs and deliver reporting on AP performance, aging, and cash flow impacts
  • Manage AP-related audits, month-end/year-end closing activities, and UAT testing
  • Support onboarding of AP processes for new business acquisitions
  • Administration of company credit card processes
  • Attend to vendor queries via email/calls and take corrective action to resolve

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics)
  • Excellent understanding of New Zealand tax and financial regulations
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in a multinational or large corporate environment
